First-year interns are unpaid. Successful first-year interns experienced at Odyssey House are given priority selection for paid second-year paid internship positions. Second-year interns are paid $13.00/hourly.
Interns have the option of attending NEWT or completing just the compliance required trainings on Paylocity. Otherwise, each program will do various trainings relevant to the program, they will attend staff meetings where they can engage in any trainings that happen in that space, and have the opportunity to participate in the clinical decision making process there. Likewise, there are occasionally additional agency wide trainings that they can participate in, and sometimes OH will pay for interns to attend additional training outside the agency (such as with SLCo).
Interns will be assigned a clinical supervisor that they will meet with for one hour per week. They will also have a direct supervisor who will be on site with them who they can go to if they have questions or need support in the moment (sometimes these are the same person, sometimes not). We also have a monthly, optional, group supervision session that interns are welcome to attend if they wish
This is a very boots-on-the ground internship. You will be doing almost everything a full-time Therapist at Odyssey House does. This includes diagnosing mental health and substance-related conditions using the DSM V; Conducting individual, family, and group therapy as assigned; and documenting services using ASAM Dimensional Analysis format, including all required elements.
Your supervisor will complete any necessary reporting. This is a bit different for each school and program.
