Why Odyssey?

At Odyssey House, we focus on treating the individual rather than merely treating the addiction. Unlike many other rehab facilities, Odyssey House doesn’t offer 30-day or even 60-day programs.

Why? We don’t see addiction as a problem with a simple, one-size-fits-all solution that fits neatly into a 30-day package. Instead, our programs are tailored to the individual and his or her specific needs.

Not for Profit, for the People

In operation since 1971, Odyssey House is a non-profit organization that serves people of all walks of life. Our community members come to us from the criminal justice system, from the suggestion of concerned friends and family members and from self-admittance. No matter where you came from, when you arrive at Odyssey House you are treated as one of us — as a valued member of our unique therapeutic community.

Unique Therapeutic Community Approach

Odyssey House’s unique Modified Therapeutic Community (TC) approach surrounds those struggling with an addiction with a community of their peers. In this environment, people working through an addiction have the opportunity to learn from those who came before them, and see the results of our program firsthand.

With a strong, supportive community of peers, members of Odyssey House know that they are not alone in their addictions, and leave the program with a network of healthy relationships that will last a lifetime.

Dual Diagnosis Treatment

At Odyssey House, we don’t just treat the addiction, we treat the underlying causes of substance abuse. With our specialized Dual Diagnosis Enhanced program, we treat common co-occurring mental health disorders such as depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, antisocial personality disorder, mood disorders and more.

By treating both physical and mental health, we can remove some of the barriers to overcoming an addiction.

Affordable Treatment for All

Our status as a non-profit organization allows us to receive funding from a wide variety of sources, from government aid to personal donations. This allows us to keep Odyssey House open to everyone regardless of financial situation. When you’re struggling with an addiction and don’t know where to turn, we think getting help should be the first priority — not worrying about money.

We Are Recovery

The moment you step through the doors of Odyssey House, you become a member of the largest and most supportive addiction recovery community in the state of Utah. Community support doesn’t end when you graduate from the program — our graduates stay connected to the program and to one another, helping to keep one another on the path to lifelong sobriety.

Addiction is not a disease you have to endure alone. At Odyssey House, we’re with you every step of the way.
